A Wooden Ship and a Tin Can
The boy touched by history, Gordon Beckwith returns in A Wooden Ship and a Tin Can, the sequel to Benedict Arnold Wasn’t A Bum and George Washington Ate Here!
Gordon Beckwith takes a job as a summer intern at the Constitution Museum in the Charlestown Navy Yard. He faces several obstacles at his new job. He tangles with fellow intern, Summer Atkins, who smokes weed and hates the job. His boss, Benny Goodman, can’t figure out why he disappears on the two historic ships, Old Ironsides and a World War Two destroyer.
Benny doubts Gordon’s prowess until they step onto the destroyer and rocket back to the last kamikaze attack of WWII. Will they return to the safety of the 21st-century or be stuck in the perilous waters of the Pacific?
